Air Filter Box - Plastic Piece Snapped! 700 1989

I was poking around my air filter box today, and as I undid one of those PITA metal clips, one of the plastic holders of those clips snapped. The box seems pretty tight even without it if I attach all other clips, so should I be concerned about it? Does the box have to be absolutely airtight?

Any suggestions/ideas are welcome! Thanks.
