My wiper motor seems to work only when it wants to. The problem has to be either a ground or the motor itself -- I think. When the motor refuses to work, usually it will come on after just a few minutes and then work fine. That is, I just leasve the switch in the "on" position, and the wipers start working sooner or later. What I have found though is 1)whenyit is not working (with the switch on, of course) the fuse gets very hot to the touch, and 2) if I lightly peck the end of the motor with a hammer, it comes on. So I am either jarring a corroded ground (the one under the motor, I would guess) or just jossling a worn out electric motor into action. I am betting on the motor, but before I go out and find another, I would appreciate any other opinions. If it is the motor, are there any particular difficulties to replacing it?? This is the first time I have done this on any of my cars. Thanks.
