Hello everyone,
I posted this same message on the 900 forum as well.
I currently own a '91 745T that I like very much. I bought it in Oct '00 with 241K km (150K mi) on the odo, I've had quite a bit of work done to it (including an engine rebuild last summer) and it's in very good shape. The only major thing it could use is a new paint job, which I was considering doing this summer. I was hit by a bit of a curveball the other day when my Volvo mechanic (friend of mine) told me that a customer of his is considering selling their '95 945T in the next few months and that I could probably get it for a very good price. This 945 lives a few houses away from me and is driven by a middle aged lady. She likes it, but finds that it doesn't have enough traction in the winter (wants AWD). I believe she has had it since new and it has around 190K km (119K mi) on it. I've seen it up close several times, but have never really looked it over in detail. It seems to be one of those 'weird' '95s that has no sunroof and no alloy wheels. My '91 has a sunroof, 2 sets of alloys (I can keep my hydras if I sell), locking diff, heated seats, among other nice features that I like. Anyway, I'm not sure if I know all the differences between this car and mine. I know the '95 has SIPS, piston oil coolers with the long skirt pistons, electric cooling fan, nicer seats, shifter and exterior roof trim, and airbags. I don't know if it has a locking diff(?) and I also read that the gas tank may be bigger(?). I'm trying to decide if it's worth selling my '91 for and would like to know what I'm getting in the difference. I hate the idea of letting my beloved silver wagon go (the '95 is dark green), but this may be my only chance to get my hands on a '95 945T which is supposed to be the ultimate Volvo 4cyl turbo wagon. I can't see a way to own both of them unfortunately. The '95s are hard to find around here and this one seems to be in nice shape. Anyway, I'm looking forward to your responses. Thanks in advance!
