Just read the comments re an R134 conversion, think I'm due for this upgrade
on the old box!
Just popped the new temperature switch into the rad and the electric fan is working fine. I did notice that there is power to the fan
ONLY when the A/C switch is on and the ignition switch is on...which begs the question, shouldn't the electric fan come on when the car is parked after driving in hot weather, to prevent the excess heat in the engine from raising the coolant temperature too high?... (I know it should just relieve into the expansion tank) Has anyone rewired the fan so that it runs if the Temp switch closes even when parked?... I'd appreciate a copy of the 740 wiring diagram
if anyone has it for this circuit unmodified and modified...I'm thinking of
using a timer circuit to limit the fans run time to avoid sucking the battery
down...Thx in advance..DS
Also, how the heck do you clean out the A/C drain pan, do you get at it through the grill assembly on the outside of the car by removing the entire front cowing? .. darned drain keeps plugging up...
PS anyone know what the composition of the Volvo blue and Volvo green
coolant is?... I'm thinking of throwing a new rad in as this one's original.
