questions about an '89 245 DL with hi miles 200

Hello. My main problem deals with stalling.
In 1998 I bought a 1989 245 DL (manual transmission) with 235K miles. Since then I have run up about 70K more miles. I say "about" because the odometer recently stopped working, but I'll get to that later.

The previous owner was a man who drove it 150 miles a day commuting to work. That accounts for the 235K miles in 9 years. It was kept up pretty well. The engine is the original engine.

Here are the major repairs I have performed on this car since I purchased it:
1. Fuel injector brain box replaced
2. Brakes
3. Tune ups

So I have been pretty lucky.

My question today is this: can someone explain to me where I can locate and check all of the vacuum hoses? What do vaccuum hoses look like? Can I patch spotty-looking ones with Goop?

This car stalls all the time. It stalls at traffic lights. It stalls going down hills. It stalls whenever I take my foot off the gas pedal.

I suspect the problem is a leaky vaccuum hose, or a faulty AMM. I'd like to inspect the hoses before I take it to the shop.

This is the first time I have posted a message to this board, although I have been searching the archives for years now.

Thanks in advance -
Michelle
