Floor rot on 444 444-544

Well... no pics yet, but I went over to Viking Motor and they had the car on the rack for me to check out. Brake system needs new hoses, cables, and a master cylinder. Wheel cylinders might need a rebuild but maybe not. Lots of bad bushings, etc. but the kingpins are decent and control arms are too.

The floor has a lot of rust... pieces of metal hanging down but the guy there said he has seen a lot worse. What does one do about this? Are there pre-made entire floors that can be welded in? Something that does not rust (like aluminum) would seem to make sense. As I am no welder, is this an expensive proposition and if so how much. I'd love to hear stories (with happy endings!) from other 444 or 544 owners.

Thanks!

Sean
