Hello. Some problems, some questions:

I disassembled the air intake system to clean the throttle body and r & r the AMM. I found motor oil pooled at the bottem of the plastic bellows that connects the two.

I plan on replacing the oxygen sensor as well. I applied a penetrant to the socket area today, in an effort to ease removal of the old O2 sensor tomorrow. Unfortunatly, I initially used a silicone based lubricant. I grabbed the can with the yellow cap thinking it was pb blaster.

My questions are: how is the motor oil accumulating in the air intake system, how bad is this, and, if bad, how can I stop it? Also, what can I do to remedy the penetrant blunder; or, isn't it something to worry about? I've read on the b.b. that silicone and O2 sensors are to be kept far from eachother due to contamination problems.

I'm changing the AMM and O2 sensor because am trying to rout out an intermittant loss-of-power problem.
