Sponge Bob (square car) gets a new radiator 200

First thanks for all the condolences and offers of radiators - you guys are great!.

I had to buy a radiator THAT DAY because the car had a heavy schedule on the next day. I found a new one at Napa for $140 - about the same as everywhere else. Installation was easy except that the new radiator had a hole in the top left corner (that I found out later was for a the thermostat for an electric fan, which I don't have). This hole went unnoticed until gobs of antifreeze poured out after I started filling up. There was a plastic plug and seal in the box with NO instructions, but us Bricksters seem to be pretty adaptable and I figured it out. I did have to take off the radiator in order to push it in (I can see it popping out under high pressure just when I need it most!). All in all and easy job, except I had to do it in the rain. Car was driven the next day with no issues, and in fact running cooler than ever. Now I just have to get my wife to take it back for emission inspection at the same place it destructed 3 days ago - she's not looking forward to it.

By the way, one of the suggestions to help me pass emissions was to plug the vaccum line to the ECU. Sponge Bob apparently knew the trick too, because as I was installing the water pump, the vacuum line broke. The car runs fine and I'm hoping maybe I can start using something besides ultra-expensive premium.

Keep you fingers crossed for me. My daughter loves the car and my wife is getting suspicious of his reliability, so I'm under pressure. Between the two of them, they put 1000 miles a month on Bob. This board is a great help!
