95 940 b230f engine, how to R&R dist cap and rotor? 900 1995

recently purchased 95 940, replaced hoses, thermostat, belts, flame trap,etc. But need some advice from y'all who have experience before I try removing and replacing the distributor and rotor that is located between the valve cover and the firewall...looks like it is a Royal PITA. Any tricks/short cuts or pitfalls to be aware of?
