B21F rod knock / bearings question 200 1979

Good day to all...

I have mild/medium rod knock in my B21F, on at least two cylinders.

Last fall, I had coolant leak into the crankcase from a bad head gasket which I have now replaced. I have read that an oil/coolant mixture will swiftly destroy engine bearings. My knock could well be explained by that phenomenon since I didn't have it before the head gasket leak.

I am now wondering if I can get away with just changing the rod bearings with the engine in-car. Or must I take for granted that the main bearings/ intermediate shaft bearings are shot too and that I will have to pull out the engine to change them all.

I am looking to make the engine reliable for another year, not perfect.

Thanks for any and all advice!
