I bought my very first 1800 (71 1800E- it needs work)with no experience last sunday on ebay. So Idecided to go to visit a junk yard for parts (assuming they had any 1800s) and OH MY !!! I bumped into a 64 1800s in a junk yard, amazingly in good shape.
Interior and engine untouched, genrator glass bulb pump etc..
The body was in prime and was fitted with newer rocker panels. The floors looked like surface rust.
Front signal lights looked different - they were partially white, is this normal
One bumper
The trunk had the hinges and opened and locked (I told the guy who is going to pull it out of the yard to be careful)
I wasn't sure of the year so I went to a local book store got on-line and figured it was a 64. I bought it and now being the first real 1800 needs some serious advice.
What should I do first?
How can I start the engine - no keys
Are there parts around
Any unique items on this car I should look for?
Apparently, the owner of the car was the brother-inlaw of the owner, he lost interest and brought it in 5 years ago.
