Well, I sold my 1967 122s to a Minnesotan. I'm going to deliver it from Seattle in about a week and was wondering if y'all had any advice for taking an old Volvo on a 2000 mile trip through the Great American Midwest. I'm a little concerned about the heat-- not that the car can't handle it, but being a Seattle native I get really REALLY lethargic and just can't stand hot weather. It is 89 degrees here right now and I'm about to die. Any ideas about how I can stay cool? What extra parts would you recommend I bring? Are there any places to get parts for this car between Seattle and Minnesota? Since I'm going to be without a car on the way back (unless there's something REALLY cheap or free I can get my hands on out there), I'm trying to pack light. What are some must-have tools besides the 1/2", 9/16", and 7/8" wrenches, my Victorinox Leatherman (everybody MUST get one of these) and a couple of screwdrivers? What about any suggested modifications? I already added driving lights for those nighttime backroads... Anything else? I've made the trip several times in newer cars, but does anybody recommend any must-see sights along the way? To avoid the heat, I was toying around with the idea of cutting through Canada for most of the route. Any experiences?
Thanks!
Ben
