In the other post (Possible vacuum leak?), I reported my effort to stem a vacuum leak. In tracing the vacuum routing I found a bare vacuum fitting. This is on the underside of a device below the master brake cylinder shaped like a oval cylinder with a 3-wire connector and a couple of cacuum hoses (what is this mystery device anyway, the cruise control servo?), and this fitting is one of the two in the disk part of the device, pointing down, with the other fitted with a hose that goes in a tee. This bare fitting looked so peculiar I put a vacuum plug on. I haven't tried the cruise control afterward. What is this thing? Did I do the right thing?
Thanks,
