Keep fixed car after wreck or trade in right away??

This question is rhetorical (at least to the brickboard). Son's wife was driving her Mazda Protege 5 and got T-boned by someone running a red light. $5000 worth of damage. My advise is going to be to trade in the car as soon as it is out of the body shop on another car. (Son's waiting for his 83 245 to be repainted and transplanted OD installed.)
Or should they keep the fixed wrecked car? (still have 4 years of payments to go)
