My car 86 745/T runs great, failed smog. After the 2500 rpm test, the HC would not stay put. They fluctuated between 350PPM and 120PPM tending to stay at the higher end. The idle sounds rough and with a tach connected waves between 750 and 850 HC seems to follow the rpms. (hope this is making sense to someone)
I took the car home and tested the plug wires (OK) and pulled the plugs and regapped them. the condition of the plugs indicated running lean (light grey color) I checked for voltage at the O2 lead ingition on engine off,and got O
the heating leads only showed 2 volts instead of twelve. Engine running and DVM hooked to green lead I get a steady .15
I am going to go for a new rotor and cap in the next day or so, but any help or suggestions would of course be apprciated.
