I have a hole in my head. 200 1987

'87 240 B230F, 150+K miles. Have had a persistent front engine oil leak. I'm sure I could change out all seals and timing belt blindfolded by now after doing it so many times.

Last time I was in there, I found a pencil-eraser sized hole in the head behind the camshaft seal. The hole allows oil to flow directly to the seal from the oil gallery that serves the front cam bearing.

What's the best permanent (and inexpensive fix?). I can get a salvage head for $250. I don't really trust the "JB Weld" repair - it's daughters car and she is not known for regular oil level checks. Have a plug welded in? Any other ideas?

Thanks for any info.
