Alternator problem please help.... 200 1987

car 1987 240 gl... seem to be some major oil leak around the front of the motor where the water pump is....

car dead when jump start run few second than stop...
Battery for sure death.. bearly turn over the motor.

how long does it take to install a new alternator and any problem I ran into...
if not .. what is the shop will charger for time labor 1 hour ?

I plan to do the job myself... please give detail what I should be doing and looking for....

thank for all your support over the year car now almost 300,000 mile geting tire...
