Dash wiring - please help!!! 200 1988

I have the instrument cluster on my 88 240DL out to chase down some funkiness, bad ground, temp compensator, etc. and I'm noticing some wires that aren't hooked up and would like some help figuring this out.

First of all, the cruise control wiring is disconnected (that explains why the CC hasn't worked since we got it). It has a flat white four-wire connector coming right off the switch and into the dash, but the connector is not connected to anything. What and where is it supposed to be connected to?

Second, there is an orange wire with a female spade connector coming from the direction of the firewall which appears by its length that it might belong connected to the instrument panel, but it's just loose. What is this orange wire supposed to be connected to?

Then there are the wires and connectors that are all bundled up to go to the back of the instrument cluster. The round and half-round connectors are obvious, as is the squarish one that clips onto the back of the speedo. There are two more single wires in this bundle, one is yellow-red and the other is white-red. The YR has a small square female connection on it, and I have in the past connected this to the terminal on the rear right lower corner of the cluster (from the perspective of sitting in the driver's seat). Is that correct? And what is the white-red wire supposed to be connected to? Is this for the tach, which I don't have?

There are a couple different terminals on the back of the instrument cluster that have never been hooked up to anything, so I'm a little confused. Thanks so much for your help.
