940 Radio Problem

the radio in my 91 volvo 940 estate has died. when you switch it on it recieves no power, no lights, no noise. nothing. ive checked the fuses, is there anything else that i can check? is it really dead?

Ive been using a cassette to cd player converter, could that have damaged it?
