boost gauge woes 700

Just received a boost gauge and installed it. Problem is the gauge reads left of 0 when inactive at 3 InHg. At max boost it reads 4 psi. Do I have a bum gauge or is it possible for me take apart teh gauge and 0 it myself? Or is it reading to the left of 0 because I am 600ft above sea level? If zeroing it myself is possible could someone please explain how to do it? Thanks in advance! Yes... it is hooked up correctly!
