Well, my 240 was crapping out a while back and I reluctantly decided I'd take a friend up on his offer to sell me an 88 Chevy Beretta real cheap.
One month later, the Beretta is done for. Blown head gasket on V6... garbage. Not worth the time or money. So I got a fancy new stereo out of it anyway. And a battery. Ho hum, live and learn.
So the volvo sat for a couple months... my transfer pump had stopped working, which I fixed by tapping a new ground, removing much rust from the retaining ring and top of pump, and replacing the tubing that connects the electric pump to the metal tube exiting the pump, as well as fitting a new sock filter.
Ran one new fuel line from pump. It took a few tries to get it running again, but it started up and ran great. Took it around the block and all seemed pretty well. I let it sit a couple more days and now it won't start.
Can't feel any pressure in gas pedal. I think it would be wise to replace all the fuel lines anyhow.
Car has a fuel filter under the hood, so the part next to the main fuel pump is an accumulator, yes?
I don't have the equipment to check the pressure. How should I proceed - what parts to check and in what order?
The main pump is running but it's noisy. I haven't had a second person here to confirm that the other pump is working. No visible signs of fuel leakage.
