I am posting a new message as a result of rhaire's comments to my previous...
Please don;t take offense rhaire, just double checking opinions... but thanks!
My newly retrofitted 240 A/C system (I did a complete system retrofit replacing oil, exp valve, dryer, o-rings) was just pulled vacuum.
I used my Mastercool 5 CFM pump, and a new set of manifold guages.
The vacuum has now pulled up until 26 or maybe even 27, after multiple tries, leaving it pulling for around 10 minutes a shot.
It drops down to around 20 in 10 minutes, and maybe in 1 hour down to almost nothing (5).
Is this considered OK? Is this considered a system that could likely not loose coolant after being charged up? Should I put in a can of stop-leak along with the r134?
I thought it was supposed to not loose ANY VACCUM at all after 1/2 hour?... but I do not have the experience.
Please let me know how I should proceed. I am looking for a functional system, that could potentially last the season, not a perfect one.
Thanks!
