I'm stuck in the middle of a head-gasket job. While removing the head, one of my head-bolts sheared off right where the threads start (a good 2" below the top of the block).
My bang-in extractor may be long enough to reach the remnant but given prior experience I'm pretty worried about the extractor breaking before the bolt.
Drilling the guy out isn't very appealing because I can't find a tap long enough to reach the bottom.
Anyone here successfully removed a stuck head-bolt? How can I salvage my block?
Thanks,
Chad
