Volvo out of B230FT's too much demand 700

Stopped up at the dealer today to see if my new B230FT came in. No motor to be had. The parts guy calls up to Volvo to see where it is at. The woman on the other end of the phone pulls the old Motor? What Motor, when did you order it. He says I ordered it on Monday the 11th. She says are you sure it was on Monday? He said yes I'm sure. She was pulling every CYA excuse she could find. He says OK fine what ever when can you have a new motor here? She says we are out of those motors but there are some on back order. He says how can you be out of Motors you didn't tell me last Monday that they were on back ordered. She said "Well you didn't ask if they were in stock when you ordered it." As far as us being out of that particular motor we have been shipping out every B230FT we can get our hands on as soon as they come in.
He asked when he could expect my motor to be delivered. He was told hopefully by late next week. They are suppose to be getting a shipment of engines in by the end of the week.
There must be a lot of 700 and 900 owners willing to drop $3500-$3800 installed for a new motors. These owners must be not be too eager to give up their cars as soon as the sales departments would hope. My dealer installed a B230FT in an 90 740 last month, and a 88 740 rolled out last night. And there is my 87 745 with an empty engine bay waiting for the new motor to come in. They thought the engine would be in Monday afternoon so they yanked mine on Monday after lunch. The dealer was nice enough to give me a V40 to drive until the car is finished next week.
