I finally got around to looking into my 85 245 problem again. Since I last posted I have Aqquired an 87 245 "parts" car,Which runs, for $300. The 87 has a non op odometer(replaced the gear once, thanks Eric S.)Ad the interior is in ok shape, the body is in very good shape. I have been driving it to and from work as a temporary ride. I took the ecu out of my 85245(the problematic one) and placed it in my 87 245, and the same problems that were occuring in the 85 appeared in the 87. I took the 87's Ecu and placed into the 85 and (although it needs a tune-up) it ran!
Now my question is this i may have yet another 245 wagon that i can use for parts(i kinda want to fix up my 87).It is a five speed with a b230f , not sure of the year. Will the ecu work in my 85? I know i need a 544 or a 511 ecu and i haven't inspected the "new" parts car ecu yet, should i bother?
Thanks in advance.

Ps. What should I do with my old 511 ecu that is shot?
