Hey Folks,

I'm in the process of repairing the floorboard of my 86 240. I purchased the car new and have put close to 500k miles on the old warrior. Still the original engine with no repairs and the car still drives better (I think) than the 2002 Infiniti I have. I have used the Por-15 Trunk and Floorboard repair kit and the stuff is fantastic for repairing rust thru like this. A word of caution though. When they say be careful about getting the stuff on you. BELIEVE IT!!! I am now sporting a new one inch black birthmark right under my chin. It is pretty hard to paint on your back under the car looking up and not get some of it somewhere.

But to my question. There is a small oblong hole (approx 3/4 inches) right under the front floor board that I am not sure if it needs to be open to drain water or if there original was a rubber or plastic plug in it to seal it. The other side of the car is missing one too, if it was originally sealed. There appears to a similar hole that is plugged off at the rear of the back floorboard. It could be that what I am looking at is some sort of supporting substructure or panel. It is located directly under the larger round plug on the interior floorboard. If anyone knows, please let me know if I need to try to locate a plug for the hole.
