Installed vacuum gauge, now hard starting and 'Check Engine' light 200 1992

I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice.

I just installed a vacuum gauge on my '92 240 (the Volvo factory "fuel economy" gauge). Ran a tap off of the line that goes to the "one way valve" and then to the temp control unit inside the car. Car had been running fine, but shortly after I finished, the "check engine" light came on. Checked codes, no error codes showing. Made sure there were no vacuum leaks. Disconnected and reconnected battery, and check engine light went off.

Car started and ran OK today, when ambient temp warm, but when I started it tonight it killed several times, stumbled badly until it had run for a minute or so. Check engine light flashed when stumbling.

I also did a lot of fumbling around under the dash--suppose I might have dislodged something.

Any ideas?

Thanks--Dave S.
