Heater/Defroster/Vacuum Mechanism 200 1990

Hello,
I have a 1990 240. The fan works for the heater and defroster but i think the vacuum mechanism to deflect airflow to windshield, floor or vent is leaking. Basically, i cannot control the airflow direction. What may be the problem and is this an easy fix.
