A/C aftermarket or not you tell me 140-160

I'm in need of an A/C for my 1973 145. The texas heat is killing me. 105 degrees outside and a nice black interior in the volvo ouch. I'm wondering if anyone knows of some aftermarket kits that would work or would it be better trying to track down original parts. Just about everything from the original A/C was removed by the previous owner for reasons unknown to me. The only part left is the little switch to turn it on. So if you have an insight as to what I should do your info would be greatly appreciated.
