well, after having a ton of work done in the winter time... i felt pretty happy with my car. as the area thawed out i figured my car would drive great all summer long.
after a stupid accident in the winter, i had to have the driver door replaced. with this i had a list of other things that was done. 3 seals in the engine were replaced (which solved a minor oil leak), the flame trap and its associated items were replaced (i think this solved the black smoke that gusto-ed out the tailpipe when i went into turbo), timing belt was changed, water pump was changed, coolent was replaced, and much brake work (saving squeeky brake problem for a different entry).
i think a little before i had this done, the alternator belt had snapped. car was towed to the local volvo dealership (keeler). the belt was replaced and a new battery was put in. also the blower motor for the heat was replaced. (nice to have warmth for the spring, after suppering frozen fingers all winter)
few... im getting side tracked. about a month ago i felt a loss of power. as soon as the turbo gage touched the yellow... a whistling sound could be heard. i replaced a really short tube coming from the radiator. the bottem had rotted out. now... i figured the car should drive fairly close to the way it did in its younger years... for some reason... i feel very little power... especially low end. the only power is from the downshift. when i hit the gas the car down shifts and has seems like it has a fifth the power it did even before i had the winter work done. sometimes when i turn on the car and right after it turns over and sometimes after i take my foot off the gas as low parkinglot speeds the tac drops down and the car almost stalls... hasn't yet.. but who knows...
i could really use the help... one theory is that since the turbo runs off of exhaust.. a possible exhaust leak could result in having little air fuel for the turbo.
please.. any suggestions would be nice... i appologize for the lengthyness...
