Hello all,
I grew up in California, and when I was young my dad had an 1800. Ever since I've thought they were the greatest car around. I'm 25 now and live in Maryland, a state which is much less friendly to a car then California.
So here's the thing. I'd love to buy a P1800 and use it as a daily driver. I can handle everything mechanically without worry. What I'm wondering about are proactive steps I would be able to take to make sure rust never becomes a problem, assuming I bought one with no rust problems, which i would. The winters do get a little snowy out here and the road treatment tends to linger for a week or two after a snowstorm.
So, what I'd like to know is, if you were me, would you buy one or steer clear? If you did, what would you do to make sure rust never became a problem? Is it realistic to think I could keep the car from rusting here? Is there anything I'm not thinking of that might be an issue? Thanks in advance.
