I am about to have the head of my B20E done ... new valve guides etc.. I think the engine is a 74 .... I am certain that it IS a B20E. I have heard that the 74 and newer engines had the hardened valve seats for use with unleaded gas ...however, today, I was told that this engine doesn't .... anyone got the scoop on this ? I was also told to not have any more than .020" taken off as the compression ratio will be too high and this engine will ping severely with any more than that removed... again .. anyone got the scoop on this ?
Is there anything else that I should be aware of before having this head job done ?
I am also looking for a set of DX needles and jets for my pair of HS6's. Does anyone have a source ?
Thanks guys
BTW I am planning on attending the VCOA Eastern National Meet in Mt Snow, VT in October ... hope to meet some of you there .... be sure to drop by and say hello !!
