low idle- transmission related? 700 1991

For quite some time now I have been experiencing intermittent low idle when coming to a stop .I have cleaned the throttle body, adjusted the throttle position sensor ,changed vacuum hoses ,even added fuel injector cleaner...all to no avail! Acceleration is fine..starting is fine..idle ALWAYS come up to speed in a few seconds after stopping...so I have a question ! Is it remotely possible that the transmission is not disengaging in a normal fashion when coming to a stop? Please note that if I select neutral while slowing to a stop I never get this low idle situation ...only when the transmission is engaged regardless of whether it is drive low or 2. Any ideas?
