Winter/mud dirt roades, can a s90 take it? S90-V90

Hi Everyone
I am considering recommending to my mom to get a late model s90.
She didnt want 700 or early 900 cause they look old (though I know
they are reliable, being an owner of a 744) The 850 is plagued
with FWD problems aswell as the ac (I couldnt with good conscience
recommend that.) She does like the looks of the s90, but she is
worried about it being RWD and not being able to handle wintery
weather very well and possibly muddy terrain when visiting Vermont.

Anyone had good/bad experiences with mud/snow driving?
