81 240 overdrive, and engine wiring harness 200

Overdrive is acting up. In 4th gear, put in the clutch, press the overdrive button and while letting off the clutch pedal the overdrive kicks off and the relay clicks off, light goes off. If I keep the clutch depressed the overdrive light stays on. No other problems with the transmission. Everything else is working good. Thanks for any help.
Just replaced the engine wiring harness. Boy was it bad. Spent $237 on factory harness, but it was well worth it. Only problem was some of the connectors were to tall and interfered with the intake manifold and the ideal speed motor. It sure runs smooth now.
