My mechanic and I have checked every part of my brick's A/C and we have been unable to find the leak. Replaced compressor, o-rings, etc. About two days after being charged the a/c no longer blows cool air. Can the leak be in the condenser? How much of a PITA is it to replace the condeser? Can it be done without any special tools? I would like to change it out and then take it to my mechanic for dye test for leaks and then charging. Try to save some $ by replacing condenser myself, especially if they cost $100+. Appreciate any advice from someone who is in the know concerning A/C and condensers. Thanks for taking the time to help me out. I have read 700/900 FAQ's concerning A/C and have checked all suspect leak areas. FYI- still on the R-12, may convert if I replace the condenser.
