Coolant for 700/900 700 1990

The FAQs say that coolant falls into three categories, two of which are the newer "orange / yellow" type, and the third is the usual ethylene glycol based green / yellow type. What about propylene glycol? It's usually purple or blue and is Generally Regarded As Safe (non-Toxic). Peak and Sierra used to supply this type of coolant. Its viscosity is higher than the others. What are the long term affects of using it? I've been running Amsoil brand proplylene glycol in our 745T for three years with seemingly no ill effects. Any thoughts?
