940 (1992) Engine Overheating 900 1992

On 1992 940GL (187K) electric radiator fan only runs when AC is running. Without AC running, radiator fan won't run and car overheats. Any ideas? Also having problem with AC blower fan fuse blowing (see earlier posting)and assuming they are not related. As you can imagine, these two problems together are especially inconvenient. Could the two problems somehow be related?
