Is Bypassing The Radiator With A Transmission Cooler A Sound Idea ? + other ?s

My 93 940s' radiators are living on borrowed time.

The cheapest option in Australia seems to be the Volvo option. They are $130 cheaper than Nissens. However information from 2 Volvo sources suggests transmission contamination is a concern with Volvo sourced radiators.

Anyone happen to know where these radiators come from? OEM is I believe Blackstone.

Does bypassing the radiator with a transmission cooler have the potential to cause the transmission to operate at less than an optimum temp, and therefore cause transmission damage ?

All thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance.
