Crab walking Volvo.... 200 1981

Hello all,
This is something that's been bothering me for some time, but I am finally getting off my ass to try and figure out what is causing my car to "crab walk". By Crab walking, I mean that the car is driving in a straight line, (I had the front end aligned), but when viewed in motion from behind, the rear of the car is skewed to the right, the rear wheels do not follow directly behind the front wheels. I can tell the rear axle is off to one side simply by the amount of space between the wheel well and tire being different, (1 1/2 fingers), on each side? It's not severe by any strech, but it's definitely enough to bug me.
One mechanic said to me over the phone that problem was because the car was lowered, and I didn't change the length of my crossbar? This doesn't make sense to me?

Does anyone have any help they could throw my way?

Cheers
-Phil
