Installing used roof rack on 940 wagon 900

I have the option to buy a used rack off a similar 940 to install on our "new" 1993 purchase. Has anyone had experience with this? I am told by Volvo dealer that the Mounting kit costs $66. Is it worth the effort? Is it a straightforward installation? We could use the additional storage space for our vacation trip!
