Power steering control rod 700 1986

My steering rack has a lot of play in it at the inside ball joint (where the rack meets the control/track rod). Is i possible to overhaul this joint, or replace the rod? If so, how do I get the rod off? Or do I have to get a new rack? The rack is the Cam type.
