Lowering--how much is visible? 200 1989

At some point, if the car runs well and I've got cash to spare, I think I'd like to put in some new springs to lower my 244. The ipd springs lower the car 1 to 1 1/4 inches, which doesn't sound like very much. However, I have absolutely no experience with springs and I have no idea how high my car currently is off the ground. Numbers are irrelevant, though, performance and look concerns me. Obviously, I'll get better handling (due to lower center of gravity and stiffer spring rate) whether I notice it or not. My concern now is how it would look.

Are the ipd springs (or springs that lower the car similarly) visibly different from the stock springs? Will someone looking at my car who has seen a few 240s before be able to tell that a serious brick enthusiast owns this beautiful piece of engineering, or will they not be able to tell the difference between my car and that of a hippie/yuppy soccer mom who hasn't been able to afford a new ride in almost 15 years?
