Originially posted this a few days ago. I would really like to sell this car to
a Volvo enthusiast.
I need to find a good home for my 84 wagon. I have owned it for 10 years and it has been very good to me. Wasn't planning on selling it, but we bought a Honda from the inlaws (yes a Honda - not easy for me).
I am a meticulous owner
1984 240DL wagon 170,132 miles.
Owned since 1993 - bought from original owner.
Over $1000 invested in last 12 months (wasn't planning on selling)
Michelin 80K tires with less than 10k on them.
New brakes, rotors, calipers
New exhaust
New timing belt and all oil seals
New fan belts
5 speed with OD - OD unit professional rebuilt.
New Battery
New ALternator
Fresh plugs, wires
Fuel pressure regulator.
Fuel injection very good
Interior in excellent condition - Blue - only drivers seat is cracked.
Only synthetic oil used since I bought the car. Oil changed religiuosly.
Only Volvo oil filters used.
Body in very good shape. I live in Ithaca, NY but car was garaged on Long Island up to four years ago. Very little rust - almost none.
I treated car with POR-15, a very expensive rust preventative paint.
Known problems with Car
AC Does not work
Flasher switch needs replacement
Front end is somewhat loose - you could drive it forever like this. (I have the entire rebuild kit from FDC Groton - will provide with car at not charge - cost me $200.)
Motor is very strong - stronger than my 93 240 wagon with half the miles.
Anyone interested send me an email at ML238@Cornell.edu. I will send pictures.
I am asking $1450. Car is in local paper, 3 people coming tonight. I need responses from this board ASAP if interested ML238@Cornell.edu
