740 GLE B234 no power after putting new engine in the car 700 1989

I have a 740 gle, the bolt for the cog on the oil pump broke and bad things happened. We put a new engine in car started, engine ran smoothly after a few minutes. Now come the interesting part, when you give the engine gas it will only go to 1 rpm. I t seem something to do with the electrical system, the codes show something wrong at the igintion control module. The question is there a safety mode if so how do you reset. or has anyone run into this problem.

Thank you, I am hoping I do not have to put a new igintion control module in the car.
