Driver's door keylock won't lock and manual lock pull inside is frozen in open position 700 1990

This just happened a couple of days ago. It seems like a mechanical problem. I'm planning on taking the door panel off this weekend to check things out. The push/pull locking thing on inside of door will not push down. The key will not make it go down either. It just won't lock. It is stuck hard, real hard. Thank you ahead of time for your great advice. I appreciate it very much.
