Brakes or ABS failure? need help 700

There is a loud grinding sound whenever i press the brake pedal and recently i notice that there is a softer grinding sound and even a metal clunk,no brake applied, from my front end that come and go misteriously. Is this related to a failure in brake's part(rotor,pad,caliper)or ABS?. Please help me and give me some advise to solve the problem. Any opinion is greatly appreciated.
