what parts shall I prepare before I go ahead to changed a Cat. Converter 700 1991

I have a 91 Volvo 740, which getting trouble to pass the Em. Test.
A new Cat may help to pass that.
say if the Cat is the key to pass the test.
what parts shall I prepare now?
The Cat of course, I may go with the Bosal's W/O EGR cat conv.
what else shall I prepare?

I figured the the O2 sensor is mounted on the Cat just after the flange,
shall I get sth for the O2 sensor?
by the way, can't figure out how the Cat was mounted into the exhaust system.
in the front it has a flang to connect with the header pipe, what about the rear part? use welding? or the Cat come with a pipe that can allow the muffler plug into it?

Already read the FAQ, can't find this answers.
pls help me.

thanks
