The continuing A/C crisis ... continued 200 1984

I have arrived home and examined the suddenly defunct A/C on the familymobile.

My wife said it quit this afternoon all of a sudden.

The belt is fine. The compressor does not come on when the A/C control is turned on in the cabin. The fuse for the A/C appears good, so what is the likely culprit? Is there a relay or something that might have given up?

Sweatily yours,
