Want to Get rid of the diesel noise at Idling???? Heres How... 200

My '87 kinda sounds like a diesiel after i did theses things

* Adjust the timing
* Replace Belts
* Check Bushing on belt accsesorys

This is where i need your help. I can barely here the engine idling. The only thing that sounds like a diesel is My Catalatic convertor. If that is how you spell it. It Drives me nuts. I got it replaced in Feburary. And it causes my car to Sound like a diesel.
From the drivers side my car is quiet as can be. The Passenger side however sounds like a diesel. Is there anything i can do to make the Cat Quieter??
